  1. Runner - A Desktop Alternative

  6. If you need to get started right away and don't want to read 
  7. RUNNER.DOC, follow these steps:
  8.  
  9.      1. Be sure all the files from RUNNER14.ARC are in the same 
  10.         folder or directory.
  11.  
  12.      2. Double-click on RUNNER.PRG to load Runner.
  13.  
  14.      3. Press the Help key from Runner for more info.
  15.  
  16.      4. Exit Runner by pressing Undo, or click on the "Exit 
  17.         Runner" line on Runner's main screen.
  18.  
  19. Note: The configuration file included is what defines all the 
  20. programs and menu structures, and it's close to what I use.  You 
  21. won't be able to run the programs listed unless your drive is set 
  22. up exactly like my hard disk, but you can get a feel for how I use 
  23. Runner and you can add your own programs to try things out.  To 
  24. start from a clean slate, rename RUNNER.CFG to RUNNERDT.CFG ("DT" 
  25. are my initials).

  27. This should be enough to get you browsing around, but you probably 
  28. won't understand or know about everything without reading 
  29. RUNNER.DOC.  You may want to print RUNNER.DOC for reference; it's 
  30. about 23 pages.  It's in ASCII format but I've made no effort to 
  31. put page breaks in the right places -- you may want to load it 
  32. into your favorite word processor and place page breaks where you 
  33. like before printing it.

  35. You should also know that Runner is SHAREWARE, that if you decide 
  36. to use Runner I expect you to pay for it.  I'm asking $5.00 to 
  37. $15.00 (as if anyone's really going to spring for 15?) to be sent

  44. address, will receive Mini-Run, a Runner companion program that 
  45. uses one fourth the memory of Runner when running an external
